As a Visiting Analyst at Lakestar, you'll be more than just an intern; you'll be an integral part of our investment team. This program is designed to provide you with hands-on experience in the venture capital world, combining market research, deal screening, and due diligence of potential investments.

Your responsibilities
- Market Research: Perform independent research sprints and market deep dives to build knowledge and expertise for one of our core investment theses (Healthcare, Fintech, Deep Tech, AI & Digitalisation). This includes market size & growth analysis, identification of key industry trends, and company mapping & screening and preparation of supporting documents to monitor market activity in Attio.
- Screening & Due Diligence: Conduct first high-level evaluation of companies and build a short-list of most promising investment opportunities identified through your market research, in-bound or out-bound channels. Team up with Associates and Analysts to develop investment insights and investment hypotheses, by conducting market, product, customer, competitor, and financial due diligence.
- Investment Case: Support the deal team with company valuations, exit scenario modelling, and investment case analysis. Help prepare relevant documents for various stages of the investment process summarising and structuring key learnings and investment hypotheses to facilitate an investment decision.
- Portfolio Support: Support investment team in their work with portfolio companies in financial, operational and strategic matters. Monitor portfolio companies in terms of growth milestones.
Your profile
- A university degree and any relevant practical experience in the field of banking, consulting, private equity, venture capital and/or tech startups.
- Analytical skills and some prior knowledge of (financial & business) modelling skills.
- Tech-savvy and passion for innovation and technology.
- Excellent communication & networking skills.
- Process-driven orientation with clear ability to make the complex simple – dive deep and put large amounts of information into context to help build a thesis around companies, industries, competitors.
- Highly independent, willing to tackle both the complex and tedious with the same energy. We need people who get things done, no matter the task.
- Collaborative team-player who values hard work over ego, with high standards of professional and ethical conduct.
