aware announces it raised $15m in seed funding led by Lakestar

Our new portfolio company aware® announced they have raised $15m in seed funding. Led by Lakestar, the round also saw participation from Cherry Ventures and Magnetic, as well as a multitude of angel investors including Katharina Juenger (Teleclinic), Simon Bolz (Klara), Florian Otto (Cedar), Manuel Grossmann (Amino Collective), Naren Shaam (Omio), Lucas von Cranach (Onefootball), Christian Reber (Pitch), Christophe Maire (Atlantic Labs), Timo Meyer, Jan Wilmking (Project Eaden), and Massimo Portincaso.

We’re delighted to support aware® as it launches its app in private beta, giving people control over their health by making check-ups more personalised, digitised, fast, and easily accessible. By digitising checkups from the ground up and leveraging blood tests and biomarkers, they are providing people with a full picture of their health based on their own unique data.

With one simple click customers can book a blood draw appointment in the aware® lab, get tested, and receive a personalised health report in the aware® app within 24h and then retest in 3 to 6 months with a subscription to track their progress over time. For businesses in Germany, aware® offers company-wide aware® health days to provide employees with easy access to premium care.

Regular blood tests are the first step for the startup. Within the next few years, aware® aims to build Europe’s largest health database for personalised medicine. This data-driven approach will contribute to medical research. Plus, it has the potential to discover new insights and untap new treatment options for millions of people.
