Rows is raising €16m Series B financing, led by Lakestar

Despite being built in the pre-internet and pre-API world, old-school spreadsheets like Google Sheets and Excel still dominate. Features to foster collaboration between users and better connectivity to other tools are mostly still missing. Meanwhile, the world continues to count on spreadsheets to create billions of documents every year. Rows is rethinking spreadsheets by using built-in integrations and a live sharing experience.

This week, Rows launched its public beta, allowing anyone to create an account and easily build the integrated tools they need to work in a familiar interface without code. In our latest founder series, Lakestar Partner Stephen Nundy discussed Rows’ journey and vision, use cases, and investment thesis with Co-Founder Humberto. “Democratizing access to data, processes, and tools can only make the world a better place,” says Stephen Nundy. The financing round accelerates Rows’s mission to make API-integrated, spreadsheet-based tools accessible to everyone. Lakestar Partner and board member Stephen Nundy comments, "Humberto and Torben have really impressed us with their ambition to disrupt the market with a new spreadsheet paradigm that tackles the significant shortcomings of today's solutions. Data integrations are native, the collaboration experience is first class and the ability to share and publish your work as an application is unique and will create more "Citizen developers" to emerge. This is essential to the growing needs of today's technology literate workforce.”

Christian Reber, CEO at Pitch, and Visionaries Club joins the board and round, alongside Cherry Ventures and Accel. We're excited about the journey ahead!
